!!! NEVER !!! We *need* your perspective. Bunnies have short lives, but they are the sweetest animals on this earth, sort of concentrated packets of love. We will all have to face the loss of our long-eared companions someday - you are helping us. Thank you for the gift!

Remember that love cannot be measured by time - it's the depth of love that counts. Grief often comes through in quiet, private moments and from little memories over a number of years. Tears of sorrow are also sweet with love.

Personally, I subscribe to the "Lion King" philosophy of life/death: the gazelles eat the grass, the lions eat the gazelles, the lions die and "become the grass". Parts of us were once other animals/plants. Kind of makes you realize how important it is to take care of the environment, doesn't it? Death is part of life. It's a beautiful, natural cycle.

No one can ever take away the truly precious moments you had with little Rufus. In a sense, he lives within you *forever* and, by sharing your feelings with the PETBUNNY group, he lives within *all* of us forever. Maybe he was a small little "furball", but his spirit has become *huge*, largely because of the depth of love you felt for him and the way you are sharing it with us.

Peace and love to you,
Cristina
