You can adjust several parameters in the "Settings" menu to help your bunny achieve a higher score.

Adjust the Initial Number of SOs:  The game starts up with the number of SOs (game level) set to 4 as the default. During the course of the game, each time you hit 10 more SOs, you advance to the next game level. Then an additional SO pops up to chase you. By adjusting the initial number of SOs in the Settings menu, you can gain a strategic advantage. If you set this to a lower number, you will have fewer SOs trying to catch you, making SO "kills" easier and your cecal stash easier to protect. However, you will have fewer SOs to splatter with poops, so you will acquire points more slowly. If you set the initial number of SOs to a high value, you will have more SO targets to smear with cecals and you will acquire points more rapidly, but your risk of getting caged increases.

Adjust the Cecal Loss Rate:  If you collide with the SO and smear him at close range (red flash), you will deplete your cecal stash (ammunition supply). By reducing the cecal loss rate, you can preserve your stash and more effectively guard your warren (your side at the bottom of the screen where you hop). Collisions with SOs will then cause less damage.

Adjust the Missile Speed:  To blast SOs with higher efficiency, increase the missile speed to give your bunny's poops more zing. Tune these parameters to make your rabbit a Tough Bun!

Firing Cecals:  Remember that only ONE unexploded poop can be in the air at a time. If you fire at a long-range target (SO) and miss, you will have to wait until your poop missile leaves the game area before you will be able to fire another one. You can gain an advantage by aiming at (and destroying) SOs at close-range or by increasing the poop missile speed setting. Your gun (tail) will be reloaded as soon as you hit an SO, allowing you to launch poops in rapid-fire fashion.

Game Speed:  If the game runs sluggishly on your computer, you can improve its responsiveness by increasing the game speed.

Running Poopaloosa on your Computer:  If you have purchased the CD-ROM version of the game, copy the HTML files and the .jar file onto your RAM disk and it will run faster. If you are familiar with using a command line (prompt) interface, you can start up the game by issuing the Java appletviewer command, instead of using a web browser. This will usually improve performance but will not display the supporting text contained in the web page.
