To start playing: Game menu --> New Game To stop playing a game: Game menu --> Quit Game To quit playing altogether: Game menu --> Quit Poopaloosa To change settings: Settings menu --> Change Settings... You can change the game level (initial number of SOs - significant others, usually bunny Dads), the cecal loss rate, the game speed and the missile speed. You can also turn the sound on or off. Once you start the game: Move the mouse to maneuver your tail into firing position. HAR. Click the mouse to fire poops at the SO and blind him. Aim well -- only ONE poop missile can be in the air at a time. If cornered, use your secret spray weapon: shift-click to hose multiple SOs at once. When you hit 10 SOs, you advance to the next game level. An additional SO will be added to the chase. There are currently 15 game levels. If you fire too frequently or collide with the SO and smear him at close range (red flash) too often, you will exhaust your cecal stash (ammunition supply). You will remain free and uncaged but, since you have no cecals left to fire at the SO, the game will end. If the SO reaches your warren (your side at the bottom of the screen where you hop) 10 times, he will be able to corner and cage you. Keep him out! An SO has two modes. He is vulnerable when he is hovering or is searching for you. However, when he is angrily chasing you (in attack mode), he is indestructible. In the latter case, you can launch poops at him in rapid-fire fashion to push him back. He will eventually retreat and switch back into hover mode. Then you can finish him off with a final "killer" poop. Good luck and remember . . . RABBITS RULE!!! |
To set up your computer: Java is required to play Poopaloosa, so turn on Java in your web browser's settings before attempting to play a game. If Java is not installed on your computer, an easy-to-use installer can be downloaded from Sun Microsystems, Inc. For Apple Mac OS 9 systems, Macintosh Runtime for Java is available from Apple Computer, Inc. Java 2 SE comes pre-installed on Mac OS X systems. However, there is currently an error in Apple's Java implementation which prevents the game from launching from a web browser. Please us for instructions. Performance Tips: If the Poopaloosa game runs sluggishly on your computer, you can improve its responsiveness by increasing the frame rate in the Settings menu. Move the slider to the right. The readout displays the animation speed in frames per second (fps). The missile speed can also be increased to give your bunny's poops more zing. Game Size Tip: If the objects in the Poopaloosa game window seem too small and are difficult to see on your computer screen, adjust your monitor's resolution to a lower setting using your system software. The lowest resolution (largest view) supported is 640 x 480 pixels. This will also improve the performance of the game. Become a Tough Bun: You can submit your score to a web scoreboard and compete against your friends. The highest 25 rabbit scores will be posted. To submit your score: Click on the "Submit Your Score" link on the web page from where the game is launched. Your bunny's name, score, avatar (small, optional image), your name and comments will be posted to the scoreboard within 24 hours. To view the highest scores: Go to the scoreboard.
Note: We reserve the right not to include results or comments in the scoreboard. What is a cecal? More properly known as cecotrophs, cecals are soft "night" feces which are formed in the proximal colon and cecum of the rabbit through microbial hindgut fermentation. Rich in vitamins and minerals, they are excreted as grapelike clusters of material and ingested by the rabbit directly from the anus (cecotrophy; coprophagy). Cecals have an outer greenish membrane that encloses a sweet-smelling, semi-liquid center. Their inherent smushiness makes them ideal ammunition for splatting against the SO's face. HAR. |
